Milton W. Brown, 94 of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018 at The Shook Home. Born August 13, 1924 in Frackville, PA, he was a son of the late David and Barbara Balliet Brown. Milt was a graduate of the Frackville High School and served with the US Army in the European Theatre during WWII. He graduated from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy in Hershey and served as a State Trooper for 29 ½ yrs retiring in 1979 at the rank of Corporal and was once recognized as State Policeman of the Year. He went on to work in security at Grove Manufacturing and to serve as a Deputy with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, and tending to his flowers.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Horst Brown, whom he married June 28, 1958; three children, James H. Brown, Jay M. Brown, and Susan R. Witter, all of Chambersburg; five grandchildren, Nicole Myers (Brad), Brittany Snider (Tyler), Kaley J.E. Brown, Jacob Hall (Aminia), and Scott Witter; and five great-grandchildren, Camden, Aubrey, Dalia, Aden, and Lennon. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Brown of Thousand Oaks, CA; and his sister, Bella Adams of West Chester, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Services and interment in Parklawns Memorial Gardens will be private.
