Miriam L. Barton, 95, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Friday morning, April 17, 2020 at Chambers Pointe. Born March 17, 1925 in Hays Grove, PA, she was a daughter of the late John Calvin and Loie May Ott Hefflefinger. Mrs. Barton retired from the former Stanley Company in Chambersburg. She was a member of the Charles Nitterhouse VFW Auxiliary and the AmVets Post 224 Auxiliary, both in Chambersburg. She enjoyed crocheting and tending to her flower gardens. She and her late husband lived for part of the year in Chincoteague, VA where they spent time fishing. Her husband, Robert R. Barton, Sr., whom she married January 24, 1948, preceded her in death on June 24, 2007.
She is survived by four children, Joan Barton Sundheim (William) of Branchburg, NJ, Joyce D. Ehrhart (George) of Chambersburg, Robert R. Barton, Jr. of Chambersburg, and Jacklyn A. Barton-Fortney of Chambersburg; eight grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Lynn and Wayne Hefflefinger. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Ken, Lester, Dean, Edwin, and Clair Hefflefinger; and two sisters, Evelyn Stuart and Velva Weibley.
Services and interment in Lincoln Cemetery will be private.
