Miriam M. Ryder, age 94, of Chambersburg, PA, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born April 7, 1930, in Fayetteville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Sargie W. and Margaret O. (Patterson) Baughman, Sr.

Mrs. Ryder was a 1948 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Waynesboro, PA. She Loved the Lord Jesus and enjoyed quilting, painting, sewing, cooking, gardening, teaching others and studying her Bible.

Surviving are two sisters, Helen Shoop (deceased husband Dale) and Patricia Moore (deceased husband James); one brother, Eugene (wife Missy); two children, Pam Vaughn (husband Frank) of Maryland and Bob Ryder Jr. (wife Deborah) of Pennsylvania; two granddaughters, Jennifer Todaro (husband Michael) and Jo Anna Sharpe (husband Stephen), and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ryder, Sr., on February 14, 2004, whom she married on April 13, 1952, and five siblings, Edna, Jane, Wilbur, Chester, and Sargie, Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024, at 11 AM in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Pastor John Scahill will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Lincoln Cemetery.
