Mollie Davis

Mollie Sue Davis, age 76, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2013 at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, MD. Born May 1, 1936 in Funkstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Alton and Joyce Virginia Spitzer Knauff.
A homemaker most of her life, Mrs. Davis was a 1954 graduate of Hagerstown High School. She enjoyed reading, playing the piano, singing, and spending time with her family.
Surviving is her husband of 57 years, Melvin Davis whom she married on September 10, 1955; her children, Melodie J. Davis (Mark Perry) of Clear Spring, MD and Michael E. Davis (Valerie) of Montgomery, NY; one granddaughter, Courtney Forsyth (Christopher) of Clear Spring, MD; a great granddaughter, Allison; and one sister, Kay Liggett (Terry) of Hamilton, OH.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 11 AM at Salem Lutheran Cemetery, Marion, PA; where Pastor Murray Stevens will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the St. James United Brethren Church, 2404 Warm Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA 17202.
