Morris J. “Pat” Patarini, age 87, died on July 9, 2021 in Chambersburg, PA. Born in the small mining town of Nanty-Glo, PA, Pat attended Nanty-Glo High School, where he excelled in sports.
He attended John Carroll University where he was an All-Conference football player and majored in Accounting and History. After college he went to work for the U.S. Postal Service where he held numerous managerial positions including Post Master at Ft. Meade, MD. While living in MD he was involved in numerous organizations to include the Landover Hills Boys Club, and was a Life Member of the Optimists Club and supported many church activities.
After retiring, he and his wife Joan, moved to Penn National Estates in Fayetteville where he was an active golfer and did volunteer work to include taxes for the elderly, Adopt-A-Highway, as well as volunteering at Corpus Christi Church & The Capital Theater. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the VFW in Chambersburg and the American Legion in Waynesboro.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joan Jenkins. Also, his 5 children: James (Gail), Eagle River, AK, John (Gia) Denver, NC, Theresa (Craig) Emory, Columbia, MD, Elaine (Kelly) Mulville, Hollister, CA, Paul (Cindy) Ellicott City, MD; 11 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren & many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his sister Mary Dougherty, Raleigh, NC & pre-deceased by his brother Joe, Elyria, OH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201. Very Reverend Allan Wolfe V.F. will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Corpus Christi Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org/nca/donate. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA.
