Muriel A. Weaverling, 91, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Thursday afternoon, November 7, 2013 at Chambersburg Hospital. Born May 10, 1922 in Waynesboro, she was a daughter of the late Burt King Mason and Myrtle Watkins Mason. She retired from Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg after many years of service. Mrs. Weaverling was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg, VFW Post 2535 Ladies Auxiliary in Lockport, NY, and Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Chambersburg. Her husband, William C. Weaverling, whom she married November 2, 1947, preceded her in death on August 19, 1992.
She is survived by three children, Mary Ann Hess (and Rick Eakle) of Selbyville, DE, William C. Weaverling, Jr. (and wife Joni) of Chambersburg, and Anita Keller (and husband Terry) of Newburg; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey Hess, Laura Hagan, Brian Hess, Amy Weber, Jeffrey Weaverling, Joshua Kepner, and Zachary Kepner; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Betty Castelluccio and Mary Middlekauff, both of Waynesboro, and Doris Bailey of Evening Shade, AR. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her identical twin sister, Alice Highlands; and her brother, Burt King Mason, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 12, 2013 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Fr. Paul J. Theisz officiating. Interment will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
