Myrenda E. (Nancy) Bush, a resident of Falling Springs Nursing Home, formerly of 216 Milhouse Avenue in Laurich Estates, Chambersburg, PA died on October 22, 2011 at 5:45 pm.
Born September 4th, 1912, in Edwardsville (Luzerne County), Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of David and Sarah (Walters) Edwards. She married William Harold Bush on December 24, 1931 and after 70 years of marriage, her beloved husband passed away on March 12, 2002.
In her younger years, Mrs. Bush was an accomplished pianist known throughout Luzerne County and beyond, where she performed many concerts, including a weekly radio show. She continued to give private performances, throughout her life for the entertainment of her many friends.
Mrs. Bush was a resident of Binghamton, New York for 40 years, where she and her late husband formed the W. H. Bush Certified Public Accounting Company. After retiring from their business of 40 years, in 1974, she and her husband relocated to Laurich Estates in Chambersburg to spend their retirement years. Mrs. Bush and her husband traveled extensively throughout the world, but especially enjoyed their annual trips to Prince Edward Island and Adelaide, Australia, where they made many friends.
Mrs. Bush and her husband were major contributors to the Shippensburg University Foundation, donating generously over the years and also supported the Festival Chamber Orchestra Association of the University. Mrs. Bush was an active member of the Fourth Street Church of the Brethren in Chambersburg. Over the years, she and her husband made generous contributions to upgrade and enhance the furnishings of the Church, including an organ, new carpeting and new pews. They also purchased an organ for another Church in Fayetteville, prior to joining the Fourth Street Church.
Mrs. Bush is survived by a son, Forrest Bush and his wife, Alberta, of Chambersburg, and also a grandson, Christopher Bush, who resides in San Diego, California. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, David Edwards.
Services will be private. Mrs. Bush’s final resting place will be in the Kattelville Cemetery, near Binghamton, New York, in the Bush family plot.
