Myrna Lavonne Fields, age 80, of Chambersburg, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 7, 2016. Born in Waynesboro, PA on May 17, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Floyd B. and Anna Katherine Berger Rock.
Vonnie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. A generous spirit, she loved the gospel and dedicated her life to helping others, especially those in need. Vonnie enjoyed spending time with her family, walking and playing with her grandchildren, gardening, and spending time outdoors.
Surviving are five children, Penny Wynn Stoner (James) of Chambersburg, PA; Tracey Leona Smith (Randy) of Fayetteville, PA; John Bard Fields, Jr. (Sherry) of Chambersburg, PA; Virginia Gay McGwin (Steve) of Scotland, PA; and Richard Lance Fields, Sr. of Chambersburg, PA; 22 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and five siblings, Norma M. Ricker of New Franklin, PA; Judith Peiffer of Chambersburg, PA; Nancy L. Graver of Spring Grove, PA; Donna J. Brown of Chambersburg, PA; and F. Lemar Rock of Fishers, IN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Bard Fields, Sr., two grandchildren, and one sister, Brenda I. Rock.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016, at 10 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 50 Ragged Edge Rd., Chambersburg, PA 17202. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 15, 2016, from 7 – 9 PM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA and on Friday one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Interment will follow the service in Greenhill Cemetery, Waynesboro, PA.
