N. Arleen Cowgill, age 68, of Chambersburg, PA; passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2012, surrounded by her family. Born August 22, 1943 in Levels, WV, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Naomi Shanholtz Catlett.
An avid flower gardener, Arleen enjoyed being outdoors and spending time planting a variety of flowers. A caring and kind mother and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her granddaughter. Arleen was a 1961 graduate of Romney High School. Romney, WV.
Surviving is her husband of 49 years, Howard Cowgill, whom she married on May 12, 1962; her son, Brian Cowgill (wife Melinda) of Greencastle; her granddaughter, Emily Cowgill; and a sister, Nellie Deahl (husband Paul) of Wiley Ford, WV.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 11:30 AM at Solomon’s United Church of Christ, 1594 Swamp Fox Rd., Chambersburg, PA, with Rev. Peter Emig officiating. Interment at Parklawns Memorial Gardens will be private. If desired, contributions may be made in her name to the above church and address.
