Nancy E. Barnhart Black, 81, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Sunday, November 12, 2023 in Providence Place where she had resided for the last two years. Born June 3, 1942 in Waynesboro, PA she was the daughter of the late Clarence W. and Lorraine (Raby) Misner.
She was a graduate of Quincy High School. Nancy was employed as a secretary at Barnhart Trucking (now Waste Management). She attended Grand Point Church and The Open Door Church. Nancy was an avid bowler, bowling in Tuesday Night Mixed League and Church League on Thursday nights at Lincoln Lanes. She also loved playing bingo at New Franklin Fire Hall.
Nancy is survived by three children, Sherry R. Barnhart of Fayetteville, PA, Lori A. Mahon and her husband Chip of Shippensburg, PA, and Michael T. Barnhart of Chambersburg, PA; three grandchildren, Shaun D. McMillen and his wife Jamie, Amber N. Mahon and her fiancé Chase Gillis, and Dakota M. Barnhart; two great-granddaughters, Charlee and Ellee McMillen; her second husband, William Black; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Charles E. “Charlie” Barnhart who passed away February 8, 2008; a granddaughter, Tiffany L. Peters; a brother, Douglas Misner; and daughter-in-law, Nicole Barnhart.
Services will be held, 10:00 AM, Thursday, November 16, 2023 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Pastor Don Drury officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Thursday morning in the funeral home.
