Nancy Gabler

Nancy K. Shaffer Gabler, 65, of Chambersburg, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Chambersburg Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born September 1, 1958 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late James V. and Mary C Shetter Shaffer. Her beloved husband, Glenn W. Gabler, Sr., preceded her in death on May 5, 2023.

Nancy was employed as a Cycle Counter at Ventura Foods for many years and previously at GS Electric. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, throwing horseshoes and darts, and keeping score at softball games. She was an avid Elvis fan, loved going to the boardwalk at the beach, and most of all, loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by two children, Glenn W. Gabler, Jr. and wife Chrystal of Chambersburg, and Kimberly Hawkins and husband Vance of Chambersburg; five grandchildren, Sophia Low, Braden Sleighter, Chloe Hawkins, Brandon Gabler, and Rebecca Gabler; six great-grandchildren, Addison Marie Gabler, Asher Gabler, Archer Gabler, Harley Gabler, Flora Barahona, Echo Barahona, and Theo Barahona; and two siblings, Karen S. Hissong of Shippensburg, and Dennis Shaffer and wife Vicki of Orrstown. Aside from her husband and parents, Nancy was preceded in death by three siblings, Bernard Shaffer, Virginia “Dutch” Forbes, and Cynthia Huss.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 20, 2024 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Murray B. Stevens will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
