Nancy McKenrick

February 18, 1922 — August 4, 2012

Nancy J. McKenrick, age 90, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, August 4, 2012. Born February 18, 1922 in Gettysburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Hoy and Lotti McDannell McCleaf.
A dietary supervisor for over 15 years at the South Mountain Restoration Center, Mrs. McKenrick retired in 1987. A well known prankster, she also enjoyed canning, sewing, cooking, baking, bargain shopping, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, the women of the Moose in Chambersburg, the Eagles Club in Gettysburg, AMVETS Post 172 in Fairfield, American Legion Auxillary, and the Blue Ridge Sportsman Association.
Surviving is her close friend, Robert Kint of Waynesboro, PA; her children, Darris J. “Dot” McNew of Chambersburg, PA and Jay H. McKenrick (wife Patsy) of Chambersburg, PA; her grandchildren, Sharon McNew Shipp (husband Jere) of Chambersburg, PA; Keith McNew (wife Diane) of Waynesboro, PA; Kevin McNew (wife Dawn) of Shippensburg, PA; Christopher McKenrick (wife Jennifer) of Belfontaine, OH; Scott McKenrick (wife Tanya) of Fayetteville, PA; and Jay McKenrick II of Fayetteville, PA; a step-grandson, Christopher Brechbill (wife Jody) of Fayetteville, PA; eleven great-grandchildren; three siblings, Virgie Spence McClean (husband Bernard) of Chambersburg, PA; Joanne Musselman (companion Ken Diveley) of Fairfield, PA; and June Pheil (husband Pete) of MI; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 10, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Rev. Mark R. Shover and Rev. John L. Rouch will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 9, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Friday in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to Lutheran Home care and Hospice, 2700 Luther Dr., Chambersburg, PA 17202.
