Nancy L. Speer, age 85, of Chambersburg, PA passed away in her home on Wednesday, August 10, 2011. Born in Chambersburg on July 5, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Mildred Stout.
Mrs. Speer was a graduate of the former Chambersburg High School, a member of the Chambersburg Garden Club, and the Chambersburg Country Club. She enjoyed reading, volunteering at the Chambersburg Hospital, and playing golf.
Surviving is her beloved daughter, Pamela Speer Seiders of Mt. Joy, PA; grand daughter, Michelle Seiders, of Mt. Joy, PA; brother, Joe Stout of Chambersburg, PA; and a niece, Mindy Wierzbicki (husband Richard). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Carlton P. Speer III.
Graveside services will be held in Lincoln Cemetery, 990 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA on Monday, August 15, 2011 at 2 PM; where Rev. Jeffrey Diller will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her name to Lutheran Home Care and Hospice, 2700 Luther Dr., Chambersburg, PA 17202.
