Nancy L. Strickler, 79, of Chambersburg, PA, died Saturday afternoon, August 18, 2012 at Chambersburg Hospital. Born May 12, 1933 in Hamburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Eckert and Grace Eckert Weidner. A homemaker most of her life, Nancy was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Chambersburg where she sang with the choir and volunteered for many years with the clothing clinic. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and reading. Her husband, Richard L. Strickler, preceded her in death on October 10, 1999.
She is survived by five daughters, Jill Kennedy and husband Phil of Huntsville, AL, Kathy Zimmerman and husband Keith and Pam King and husband Jeff, all of Chambersburg, Lori Shearer and husband Randy of Fayetteville, and Kim Wilson of Carlisle. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Dale Eckert and wife Gloria of Richland, PA and Bruce Eckert and wife Lori of Auburn, PA.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 2:00 PM at St. John’s United Church of Church of Christ, 1811 Lincoln Way East Chambersburg, PA. It was her wish that funeral services and interment be private.
