Nancy Weikel

Nancy L. Weikel, 88, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024. Born September 14, 1935 in Lewistown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Richard Broome and Sarah Alice Weaver. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William W. Weikel, Sr., on July 13, 2006 and her beloved daughter, Debra Weikel on January 6, 2008.

Nancy was a 1954 graduate of Chief Logan High School in Mifflin County, PA. She dedicated her life to making a home for her family and was also employed for many years in the accounting department with Nichols Department Store. Nancy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Chambersburg, and enjoyed crocheting, playing games and bingo.

She is survived by four children, William Weikel, Jr. (wife Bonnie) of Warren, OH, Barton L. Weikel of Shippensburg, Robert Weikel (wife Crystal) of Phoenix, AZ, and Karen King (husband Steven) of Blue Ridge Summit; eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one more expected; and two siblings, Robert Broome (wife Ruth) of Lewistown, and Joann Byers of Mattawana. Nancy was also preceded in death by one grandson, Barton L. Weikel, Jr.; and two sisters, Doris Stewart and Donna Schneider.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 50 Ragged Edge Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church at the above address.
