Noami Ruth Lesher, age 92, of Marion, PA, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2014 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born in Shippensburg, PA on November 9, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Paul I. and Clara Lehman Wenger.
Mrs. Lesher served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She was a member of the Chambersburg Brethren in Christ Church and Gideon’s International. She was an intrical part of helping her husband, J. Ira Lesher, as part of Ira H. Lesher and Son of Marion, where she had maintained an active role until recent years.
Surviving are two sons, Dean (and wife, Debbie) Lesher of Charlotte, NC and Jay (and wife, Susan) Lesher of Marion; five grandchildren, Jennifer Lesher Walls (and husband, Andrew) of Lititz, PA, Mark D. Lesher (and wife, Danielle) of Harrisburg, Jennifer Beer (and husband, Cesar Pilco-Romero) of Charlotte, NC, Catherine Beer, also of Charlotte, and Christopher Beer of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by six great grandchildren and two brothers, Harold and Charles Wenger of Shippensburg, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years J. Ira Lesher on February 11, 2010, and a sister, Eleanor Mooney.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, August 4, 2014 in the Chambersburg Brethren in Christ Church, 465 Center Street, Chambersburg, with Pastor Kevin Witter and Pastor Brent Wildeson officiating. A private interment will follow in Air Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 - 8 PM on Sunday, August 3, 2014 in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, and one hour prior to the service in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon’s International, P.O.
