Naomi Nicarry

Naomi G. Nicarry, age 87, of Chambersburg, PA, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Menno Haven. Born February 22, 1927, she was a daughter of the late John C. and Lizzie Snoke Wingert. Her beloved husband of 34 years, Rev. S. Omar Nicarry preceded her in death on May 25, 2003.

A gifted seamstress, Mrs. Nicarry made comforts for relief centers for over fifteen years. She was a member of Hade’s Church of the Brethren where she taught Sunday school. She enjoyed sewing, and gardening.

She is survived by twelve step-children, Paul Nicarry and wife Faye of FL, S. Omar Nicarry, Jr. and wife Sandra of Lititz, Carol Clapper and husband Donald of Chambersburg, Ray Nicarry and wife Pam, of Chambersburg, Ruby Wagaman and husband John of Greencastle, Esther Sprenkle and husband Fred of Chambersburg, Anna Grove and husband William of Red Lion, Chester Nicarry and wife Lisa of Fredericksburg, PA, Walter Myers of Greencastle, Elmer Myers and wife Janet of Hanover, Dorothy Minnich of Waynesboro, and Clara Witmer and husband Lowell of Greencastle; 45 step-grandchildren; and numerous step-great-grandchildren. Aside from her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by one brother, Ernest Wingert; and five sisters, Hannah Wingert, Emma Wingert, Rachel Wiles, Pearl Musser, and Clara Ashway.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Hade’s Church of the Brethren, 8200 Block of Hade’s Church Road, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Rev. George Martin and Rev. Dean Gearhart will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Brown’s Mill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 PM on Monday, June 30, 2014 at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA, and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
