Nellie Corwell

Nellie M. Frey Corwell, 89, of Fayetteville, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2012 in her home, with her family at her side. Born on October 24, 1923 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Arthur P. Frey and Janet Mitchell Frey. She was the widow of Charles J. Corwell, who preceded her in death on June 2, 1990. Nellie was a member of Chambersburg 1st Church of God and the Everfaithful Sunday School class.

She is survived by three children, Joyce L. Sites, Terry L. Corwell, and Kevin D. Corwell, all of Fayetteville; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother, Robert A. Frey of Chambersburg; and two sisters, Ruth Comer of Westchester, PA, and Trudie Meckley of Aspers, PA. Aside from her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur “Bud” Frey; two sisters, Mary McNew, and Janet Ritter; and her step-mother Bertha Shade Frey.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road Chambersburg, with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Stan Darrah will officiate. Interment in Gipe’s Grove Cemetery will follow.
