Nellie Kling Jacobs, 100, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Friday morning, February 23, 2018 at her home. Born October 4, 1917 in Oakdale, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Price and Elen Robertson Johnson. A homemaker most of her life, Mrs. Jacobs enjoyed attending the Chambersburg Senior Center for 35 years and going on many trips with the group. She enjoyed crafts, traveling, and pets. She loved life and will be remembered for her free sprited nature. She was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church in Greenvillage and a former long-time member of The Open Door Church in Chambersburg where she sang with the church choir for many years and participated in the church’s Living Christmas Tree program.
She is survived by her son, Carl E. Kling and wife Patricia of Knoxville, TN; her daughter, Violet R. Kling of Chambersburg; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and twenty-six great-great-grandchildren. One of several children born to the Johnson family, her siblings are Mitchell, Lula, and Jane. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Eslie Kling in February of 1948 and her second husband, Charles Jacobs in February of 1999.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 2, 2018 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Marlin Fleck will officiate. Interment will be at 3:30 PM PM at Nossville Cemetery, Blairs Mills, PA. The family will receive friends from 11 AM – 1 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
