Nina J. Gamble, age 89, formerly of Concord, PA, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2015, at Manor Care Nursing Home in Chambersburg, PA. Born October 7, 1925, in Blain, PA, she was the daughter of the late Alexander “Zane” Kennedy and Glenna Marie Stroup Kennedy.
Mrs. Gamble was a graduate of Blain High School, and had worked as a waitress for a number of years at the Willow Hill Howard Johnson’s, until it’s closure; she then went to work at the former Stanley Company in Chambersburg, PA, where she later retired.
She is survived by her daughter, Anita C. Shoop (husband Gerald) of Waterloo, PA; two grandchildren, Bryan Rowles (wife Tara) and Crystal Wheeler (husband Steve); four step-grandchildren, Matthew, Mark, Raymond, and Ethan Shoop; three great grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Finley W. Gamble in 2008 and a son in infancy.
Funeral services will be held in her honor on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 2 PM at the Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main St., Dry Run, PA; where Rev. Marlin A. “Butch” Neil will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Concord Union Cemetery.
