Nina “Jane” Yuhas, age 75, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at Frederick Health Hospital. Born in Connellsville, PA on January 17, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Robert P. and Nina Carson McLuckey.
Jane earned her Bachelor Degree from the California University of Pennsylvania and her Master’s from Shenandoah University. She taught in the Montgomery County Public School System for 31 years, retiring in 1999. Jane taught at Weller Road and College Gardens Elementary Schools and later served as an English resource teacher at both Redland and Wood Middle Schools. Jane was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority, the Daughters of the American Colonists, and the Montgomery County Educational Association. Jane enjoyed playing golf, mahjong, bridge, baking, crossword puzzles, reading, traveling and dining with friends.
Jane is survived by her husband of 53 years, Joseph Yuhas; a son, Keith D. Yuhas (wife Melinda) of Frederick, MD; three grandchildren, Kiersten, A.J. and Ty Yuhas; and three siblings, Robert McLuckey (wife Becky), Marcia Petko (husband William), and David McLuckey. Jane will be missed by all of her friends and neighbors.
Services and interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Inc., Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Robert P. and Nina C.
