Norbert Joseph Kneavel, 85 of Fayetteville, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born November 24, 1932 in Baltimore, MD, he was a son of the late John Kneavel and Anna Salkowski Kneavel.
A U.S. Army veteran, Norbert served honorably during the Korean War. He later worked as an accountant for the federal government at Letterkenny Army Depot. He was a member of the Letterkenny Sportsman Club, as well as the Amvets Post 224 in Chambersburg. Norbert loved playing and watching sports, and was an avid fan of Notre Dame. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and took great pleasure in helping the young people at the fish rodeo. He spent countless hours in his garden and enjoyed every minute of it.
Norbert is survived by his children, Mike Kneavel of Fayetteville, PA and Frances Ann Guyton of Goose Creek, SC; and his brother, John Kneavel of Chambersburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ron Kneavel.
In accord with Norbert’s wishes, there will be no service. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
