Orpha Elizabeth (Denlinger) Garber was born in New Lebanon, Ohio on January 6, 1926 to Roy & Ada (Brubaker) Denlinger. She peacefully passed into eternity on December 10, 2021 at the age of 95 years. She accepted the Lord and was baptized as a young lady, becoming a member of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church. On February 7, 1948 she was united in marriage with Ralph Franklin Garber. They enjoyed 57 happy years together before his passing on November 10, 2005. This union was blessed with 3 boys.
Their life was busy as they enjoyed their time on the dairy farm near Fayetteville, Pennsylvania, where Dad grew up. In later years they were able to do some traveling which they really enjoyed. After Dad’s passing, Mother occupied her time with and found much joy in sending birthday and anniversary cards to many.
She is survived by her 3 sons: Marvin & Sally (Wray), Dennis & Karen (Bowman), and Eldon & Marilyn (Metzger); 10 grandchildren: Blaine (Brenda) Garber, Zane (Juanita) Garber, Aaron (Dorothy) Garber, Doug (Renita) Garber, Ann (Jeff) Bowman, Jordan (Amy) Garber, Clinton (Amber) Garber, Kimberly (Craig) Benedict, Loren Garber, & Corinne Garber; and 35 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sister-in-law Lois (Montgomery) Denlinger, sister-in-law Gladys (Garber) Bowman and many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Roy & Ada (Brubaker) Denlinger, her husband Ralph, sister Alma & Don Sullenberger, brother Levi & Elsie (Bowman) Denlinger, brother Lloyd & Lois (Landis) Denlinger, brother Joseph Denlinger, brother Glen and Irene (Cottrell) Denlinger, sister Lydia May & Levi Montgomery, brother-in-law Joe & Virgie (Denlinger) Garber, brother-in-law Norman Bowman, and an infant brother.
The family will receive friends from 3:00-7:00 PM Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Sunday, December 19, 2021 at the Falling Spring Old German Baptist Brethren Meeting House with the Home Brethren officiating. There will be a viewing from 9:00 AM until services begin at 10:00 AM on Sunday at the meeting house. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery immediately following the service.
