Orrin Stevens

Orrin J. Stevens, 88, of St. Thomas, PA, died Friday morning, July 13, 2012. Born July 20, 1923 in Six Mile Run, PA, he was a son of the late Rufus and Elizabeth Barton Stevens. A US Army Veteran, Orrin served honorably in World War II. He retired from the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission after 17 years of service. Orrin was a member of Chambersburg First Church of God, where he belonged to the Senior Life Group.

Orrin is survived by one daughter, Regina Ann Diehl of Everett, PA; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Esta L. Everhart of Garrettsville, OH. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Hoppengardner Stevens on March 5, 2001, whom he married in 1947; second wife, Ida J. Stevens on December 16, 2006; two brothers; and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Pastor Stanley Darrah will officiate. Interment will follow in Bedford County Memorial Park, where military honors will be provided by the Ft. Bedford Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
