Patricia Ann Aughinbaugh, age 87, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born in Chambersburg on March 1, 1930, she was the daughter of the late John Bryson and Claire Irene Miller Kessinger.
Mrs. Aughinbaugh was a 1948 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School. Mrs. Aughinbaugh was co-owner and operator of Aucky’s Camping Center, retiring in 1984. She was a former member of Calvary United Methodist Church and a member of the National Camping Travelers and NARFE. She enjoyed working with many crafts and gardening. Mrs. Aughinbaugh was known by many as a warm and loving person with a warm smile and feisty spirit.
Surviving are two children, Gary C. Aughinbaugh, Sr. (wife Janet) of Chambersburg, PA and Kandy B. Topper (husband Tom) of New Oxford, PA; three grandchildren, Jennifer Will (husband Steve) of Centreville, MD, Gary C., Jr. (wife Kara) of MD and Kathryn T. Aughinbaugh of New England; great-grandson, Owen Aughinbaugh; a sister, Dolores Kosky of Tuscon, AZ; two nieces, Nancy Wagaman of Shippensburg, PA and Linda Merrick of Tuscon, AZ; and great-nephew, Dylan Baker (wife Eliza). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Gene Aughinbaugh in 2003 and a sister, Ethel Wagaman.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at 11 AM at Norland Cemetery, 2295 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607 or to the Salvation Army, 159 Lincoln Way W, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
