Patricia Ann Hare, 88, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Hershey Medical Center. Born December 4, 1929 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Chalmers W. and Roberta V. Glass Peters. Patricia was a graduate of the former Chambersburg High School and the York Hospital School of Nursing. A Registered Nurse, she retired from the Mercersburg Academy Health Center in 1992. Earlier in her life she had been employed as a substitute school nurse with the Chambersburg Area School District and at Menno Haven in Chambersburg. She had also been employed in the office of Dr. O.W. Hartman and at Grove Manufacturing. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church; the York Hospital Alumni Association; the National AARP; and AARP Chapter 2840 in Chambersburg. Her husband of sixty-four years, Francis E. Hare, preceded her in death on October 20, 2014.
She is survived by three children, twins Richard W. Hare (Carolyn), Cynthia Ann Shrader, and Kenneth E. Hare (Mary Ann); six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one step-great-granddaughter. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Peters; and her son-in-law, David Shrader.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30AM Monday, June 18, 2018 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Deacon Richard Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00-11:30 AM Monday at the funeral home. There will be no public viewing.
