Patricia McGraw

April 16, 1942 — February 9, 2022

Patricia Ann McGraw, 79, of Fayetteville, passed away unexpectedly on February 9, 2022, at the Chambersburg Hospital.

Pat was born on April 16, 1942, to Elizabeth (Keith) and Merrill Miller in Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Roaring Spring High School in 1960, she went on to earn a degree in art education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

In 1964, she wed Floyd M. McGraw, also of Roaring Spring. They initially resided in St. Mary’s County, Maryland, where she taught elementary school, for a time in a two room schoolhouse.

Pat and Floyd went on to have two children, Stacey, born in Nashua, New Hampshire, and Michael, born in Portland, Maine. In 1971, they returned to Pennsylvania, and primarily raised their children in Pleasant Hills, near Pittsburgh, where Pat worked as a floral designer. They later lived in Vienna, Virginia, eventually retiring to Penn National in Fayetteville.

Pat is survived by loving husband of 57 years, Floyd; daughter Stacey McGraw and husband John Griffiths of Arlington, Virginia; son Michael McGraw and wife Julie of Wayne, New Jersey; and four grandchildren: Duncan and Lucy Griffiths, and Astrid and Kiley McGraw. She is also survived by sisters Sandra Moose of Tequesta, Florida, and Drusan Bithell of Roaring Spring, brother Samuel Brumbaugh and companion Annie Stives of Duncansville, sister-in-law Ruby Brumbaugh of Roaring Spring; aunts Ethel Burket of Bakers Summit and Betty Fisher of Martinsburg, uncle Harry Keith of Roaring Spring; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pat was predeceased by her parents Elizabeth and Merrill, her stepfather Gerald Brumbaugh; brother Daniel Brumbaugh, brother-in-law James Moose, and sister-in-law Suzanne Brumbaugh.

Pat was active in multiple card groups, making lifelong friends. In later years Pat’s focus turned to quilting, which she pursued with a passion. She was active in Penn Needles Quilters at Penn National and enjoyed teaching others how to perfect their skills. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
