Patricia L. Slaybaugh

Patricia L. Slaybaugh, 81, of Chambersburg, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born March 26, 1943 in Waynesboro, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd E. Monn and Rhoda Dehart Galbraith.

Patricia was a 1961 graduate of CASHS. She was employed as a sewing machine operator at the Stanley Company and later J. Schoeneman in Chambersburg. A very dedicated and involved mother, Patricia served as a Den Mother in the Boy Scouts, helped with her son’s baseball teams, volunteered when her daughter was in the Brownies, and helped with the Chaparral Majorette and Drum Corps. She also enjoyed crafts, reading, raising horses, camping and traveling. She was a wonderful cook and baker and also enjoyed gardening and canning. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jay R. Slaybaugh, whom she marrieds on March 7, 1964; three children, Ray Slaybaugh of Osborn, ME, Lisa Beltz of Chambersburg, and Jenny Schwartz (husband Trevor) of Chambersburg; four grandchildren, Grace Slaybaugh, Dustin Beltz, Jaimie Cooper and Trista Schwartz. Aside from her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her sister, Judy Stum in 2023.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 30 2024 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
