Paul Porter Goshorn, age 76, of Chambersburg and formerly of Spring Run, PA passed away on March 6, 2013 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born June 27, 1936 in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Jacob P. and Ethel Doyle Goshorn.
A master plasterer, Paul was well known for his beautiful swirled ceilings, he went on to work for the Fannett-Metal School District, where he later retired after 11 years of service. Paul loved the outdoors, especially autumn’s foliage and hunting seasons, he also enjoyed watching sports.
Surviving is his loving wife of 57 years, Joan McAllen Goshorn; sons, Ronald E. Goshorn of Spring Run and Donald P. Goshorn (wife Lisa) of Chambersburg; a daughter-in-law, Cathie Elsbach of Myersville, MD; two grandchildren, Edwin Paul “E.P.” Goshorn (wife Sheila) of McVeytown, PA and Madison Elsbach of Myersville, MD; two great grandchildren, Tressa and Trista Goshorn; and his faithful dog, Wylee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Edwin M. Goshorn in 2010.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 8:00 PM; where Rev. Marlin A. “Butch” Neil will officiate. The family will receive friends in the funeral home two hours prior to the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you do something special for a loved one or a friend.
