Paul Pefley, Jr., 80, of Chambersburg, PA, died Sunday, February 24, 2013 in Chambersburg Hospital. Born September 11, 1932 in Greencastle, he was a son of the late Paul Sr., and Gladys Burkholder Pefley. Mr. Pefley served in the US Army with the 728th Infantry Division during the Korean War and was discharged at the rank of Sergeant. While in the military he attended Ordinance Repair School at Aberdeen, MD. Following his discharge he served for one year with the Army Reserve. He later retired from Letterkenny Army Depot after more than 39 years of service. He was a life member of Harry D. Zeigler Post 6319 VFW and the Greencastle Sportsman’s Association. He had a great love for hunting and fishing. Paul liked traveling with his wife to Bastrop, LA, where the mayor presented him with the keys to the city, and he was deputized as Deputy Sheriff.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Suders Pefley, whom he married September 10, 1960; his son, Pete Pefley and wife Carole; and his brothers Merle R. Pefley and Sheldon L. Pefley and wife Debbie, all of Chambersburg. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition he will missed by his beloved dog, Nickie. Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Rhuie Costolo.
Services and burial at Lincoln Cemetery will be private.
