Paul W. “P.P.” Potter, 85, of Chambersburg, PA, went to his new home with the Lord Thursday evening, October 24, 2013 at The Village of Laurel Run. Born July 30, 1928 in Berkley County, WV, he was a son of the late William C. and Gustava C. Shepherd Potter. Paul served with the US Army Air Corps in the latter part of WWII and was recalled to the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1989 from Letterkenny Army Depot where he had worked for many years in Building 37. He was a life member of Franklin Fire Company. His wife, Wanda Eileen Burnett Potter, preceded him in death on May 25, 1984.
He is survived by his daughter, Vickie Walls and husband Sterling of Fayetteville; his son, Stephen Potter and wife Kathy of Mont Alto; four grandchildren, Jennifer Jones, Matthew Jones, Andrew Jones, and Brandon Potter; and two great-grandchildren, T.J. Argenbright and Kathryn Argenbright. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph Potter of Bunker Hill, WV and his sister, Margaret Fink of Martinsburg, WV. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, October 28, 2013 at Mount Pleasant United Brethren Church, 2509 Black Gap Road, Chambersburg, PA with Pastor Garry Culler and Pastor Mark Young officiating. Interment with military honors by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Sunday at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
