Mrs. Paula E. (Howard) Marquez, 64, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Sunday, November 8, 2020 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born January 16, 1956 in Oakland, Ca becoming the fourth daughter to Gary E. Howard (Connie) of Arizona and the late Phyllis E. (Garvine) Howard.
As a child Paula’s father was in the Navy, stationed in Guam and Hawaii before they permanently settled in Fremont, CA. She often reminisced of her time in Hawaii and fell in love with the islands beauty.
Her teenage years were spent in Fremont, CA were she graduated from John F. Kennedy High School. Free spirited, adventurous, and living her life to the fullest Paula loved fishing, camping and gold mining with her late husband Armand.
Paula was a homemaker who enjoyed crafting, sewing, doing puzzles, playing bingo, and attending a book club at the Coyle Free Library. Her dearest memories will always be how she spent time with her grandchildren teaching them how to bake and sew. Paula was devoted to the Lord and read her bible daily. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, wife and friend.
In addition to her father and step-mother she is survived by two children, Starla De Leon and her husband Gonzalo of Lathrop, CA and Armand Marquez and his wife Ashley of Chambersburg, PA; five granddaughters, Emily, Hailey, Elsiy, Cora and Cali; three siblings, Patty McClellan of Placerville, CA, Richard Howard of Murphy, CA and Debbie Farr of Martinez, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother she is preceded in death by two sisters, Pam Fisher and Peggy Noone, along with her husband Armand Marquez.
A memorial service will be held 2:30 P.M., Thursday, November 12, 2020 in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Pastor Staci Geesaman officiating. CDC social distancing and mask requirements will be in place.
