Paulette Mowery, age 89, of Chambersburg, PA; died on Monday, October 3, 2011 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born in Paris, France on September 24, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Germaine Mouraud. Having married an American soldier, Lloyd Mowery, in Paris, Mrs. Mowery came to the United States as a war bride in April 1946.
Mrs. Mowery worked briefly at the J.J. Heinz Company and Penn Hall Junior College; she spent most of her life as a homemaker and mother. She was a member of the King Street Church and the Buds of Promise Sunday School Class since 1956. She enjoyed reading about history and nature.
Surviving is one son, Michel Mowery and daughter-in-law, Sharon of Chambersburg; four grandchildren, Catherine Rosine and her husband, Jean-Luc; Jean Mouraud; Deah Atherton and her husband, Michael; and Bradley Mowery and his wife, Renee; seven great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Alice Ann Rosine, Anaelle and Florian Mouraud, Tyler and Benjamin Atherton, and Joshua Mowery. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd C. Mowery who died May 4, 2001, as son, Gerard Mouraud and a brother, Jean Mouraud.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 7, 2011 at 10 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Pastor Garry Culler and Pastor Bradley Mowery will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 6 from 6-8 PM and one hour prior to the service on Friday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Parklawns Memorial Garden.
