Pauline Burkett

Pauline Kay “Polly” Burkett, 49, of Greencastle, PA, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 at her home with her family by her side. Born October 22, 1967 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Wallace Gossert, Sr. and Myrtle Pauline Kline Gossert. Polly was a graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School and was a life member of the New Franklin Volunteer Fire Company. She enjoyed crafts and liked lighthouses but especially enjoyed spending time with her children and her dog, Daisy. Polly had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. She always strived to make sure that her children were taken care of.

She is survived by her children, Rebecca Stevens and husband Ricky of Greencastle and John T. Burkett of Greencastle; two brothers, John Gossert and fiancé Liz Shoop and Tim Gossert and wife Brenda; two sisters-in-laws, Lornie Gossert and Chris Gossert; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. She will also be missed by Rebecca and John’s many friends and their children who thought of her as a second mother and grandmother that loved them very much. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Wally and David Gossert.

A memorial service to celebrate Polly’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 20, 2017 at New Franklin Assembly of God, 2355 New Franklin Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. William Dick will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM Saturday at the church. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her family to assist with funeral expenses and mailed to Rebecca Stevens, 154 A, North Allison Street, Greencastle, PA 17225.
