Pauline M. Hammond, age 91, a resident at Woodland Retirement Home in Orbisonia, and formerly of Fannettsburg, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. Born February 5, 1925, in Ft. Loudon, PA, she was the daughter of the late Emma Yeager Murray.
A homemaker most of her life, Mrs. Hammond enjoyed baking, singing, watching Cardinals, and collecting Angels. As a baker, she was most notable for her apple pies and fudge.
Surviving are four children, Sheila Fraker (husband Jan) of Hustontown, PA, Christine Dunkle (husband David) of Spring Run, PA, Myrl D. Hammond (companion Glenda) of Harrisonville, PA, and John W. Hammond (wife Billie) of Shade Gap, PA; nine grandchildren; three great – grandchildren; and a sister Patsy Cline of Chambersburg, PA. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Myrl L. Hammond in 1998 and siblings, Charles, George, and Fred Murray; Dora Mae Shaffer; and Raymond, Paul,Garnet, and Gerald Yeager.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 23, 2017, at 10 AM at the Spring Run Bible Church, 20722 Hammond Rd., Spring Run, PA 17262, where Rev. John Semple and Rev. Ryan Henderson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Agett-Geisel Funeral Home 18875 Main Street, Dry Run, PA on Sunday, January 22, 2017, from 6 – 8 PM and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Interment will follow the service at Stenger Hill Cemetery, Ft. Loudon, PA.
