Pearl Friese

Pearl U. Friese, 87, of Chambersburg, PA, died Monday evening, August 13, 2012 at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born December 2, 1924 in Greencastle, she was a daughter of the late Earl W. and Daisy Bell Sprankle Kipe. Her passion in life was nursing and she was employed as an LPN at Chambersburg Hospital, retiring in the mid 90’s after fifty years of service. She was a member of Harvest Time Ministries where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years, enjoyed singing, and volunteered in the kitchen for many church functions. She had a great love for cats. Her husband, Leroy G. Friese preceded her in death in 1993.

She is survived by her sister, Janet Wenger and husband Blair of Shippensburg; and seven brothers, Richard Kipe and wife Evelyn of Mercersburg, Benjamin Kipe of Chambersburg, Charles Kipe and wife Dorothy of Mercersburg, Harry Kipe and wife Kathy of Chambersburg, Rev. Elmer Kipe and wife Fern of Camp Hill, Rev. Vaughn Kipe and wife Judith of Chambersburg, and Daniel Kipe and wife Leah of Chambersburg. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Mary Kipe, Shirley Kipe, Nona Jane Kipe, Anna Mae Helfrick, and Daisy Altland; and a brother, Samuel Kipe.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 17, 2012 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with her brother, Rev. Elmer Kipe officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.
