Peggy J. McNew, 80, of Chambersburg, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born on June 25, 1936 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late John T. and Isabell West Sprow.
Mrs. McNew was a homemaker most of her adult life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and had an immense love for animals; particularly her dog, Layla, who was her pride and joy.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Perry (husband Robert), of Chambersburg; brother, Ray Sprow (wife Bonnie) of Chambersburg, sisters, Vickie K. Howe of Chambersburg, and Kathy Frazer (husband Daniel) of Chambersburg, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Max E. McNew, who passed away on September 23, 1982; her daughter, Deborah K. McNew; brother, Tom Sprow; sister in law Nancy Sprow; and brother in law Jay Howe.
