Peggy Welker

Peggy J. Welker, 80, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born May 29, 1941 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late John R. and Mary C. Rosenberry Pilgrim. Peggy was a 1959 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School. A licensed practical nurse she had been employed early in her life at the Chambersburg Hospital and the former Guilford Convalesarium. She later worked as a private duty nurse. Peggy was a member of Crider’s United Brethren Church. She enjoyed being at home working outside mowing her lawn on her John Deere Tractor. She loved animals and her neighbors and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Her husband, Dennis D. Welker, whom she married October 25, 1963, preceded her in death on May 2, 2019.

She is survived by her son, Robert D. Welker of Chambersburg and her sister, Jane R. Sellers and husband Larry of Chambersburg.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 8, 2021 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Ron Cook and Rev. Keith Elliott will officiate. Interment will follow in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday and from 10:00-11:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.
