Peter Yaros

Peter Steven Yaros was born March 16, 1949 in Charleroi PA and passed away on Friday, December 19, 2014. He was a 1967 graduate from Monongahela High School where he was a 3-sport athlete. He went on to play basketball on a 4-year scholarship for Fairfield University. After graduating in 1971, he was employed by Corning Glass Works in Charleroi PA where he was a production supervisor for many years. He later moved to Chambersburg PA where his last position was as a teaching assistant in the Chambersburg Area School District.

He was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Martha Petronchek Yaros, and is survived by his beloved wife Donna Keiffer Yaros, his daughter Tonya Yaros Belczyk ( husband Josh), his son Michael Yaros, and his brother John Yaros (wife Ann). He doted on his two young granddaughters, Sasha and Mila Belczyk and was big Uncle Pete to his nephews, John (wife Candice) and Andrew (wife Sue) Yaros and great uncle to Jackson and Harper Yaros. He was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved singing in his hometown church choir in Charleroi PA and then later at the Carnegie PA Russian Orthodox Church.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, December 22, 2014 at the Holy Virgin Orthodox Church, 214 Mansfield Blvd, Carnegie PA.
