Phyllis Lee Stewart, 61, of Chambersburg, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023. Born February 9, 1962 in Harrisburg, PA, she was a daughter of the late Ronald T. and Lois M. Miller Berkheimer. Her beloved husband, George “Tom” Stewart, preceded her in death on March 9, 2005.
Phyllis was a 1980 graduate of Johnstown Vo-Tech. A US Navy veteran, she served honorably for 6 years. She was employed at the Chambersburg Public Opinion Newspaper in IT and accounting and later with Menno Haven in the IT department for 23 years. She enjoyed reading her Bible, spending time at the beach, riding bikes, gardening, and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandsons.
She is survived by two daughters, Wendy L. Stewart, and Mindy J. Leabhart (husband Nick), both of Chambersburg; two grandsons, Lincoln and Ryot Leabhart; two siblings, Ronald W. Berkheimer of Alexandria, PA, and Sherry L. Yewcic (husband Tom) of Vinco, PA; niece, Alison DeBalli (Husband Bobby); nephew, Luke Yewcic; great niece, Ireland DeBalli; and great nephew, Ryder DeBalli. Aside from her parents and husband, Phyllis was preceded in death by two siblings, Dennis L. Berkheimer and Karen M. Stewart; and her brother-in-law, Danny R. Stewart.
Services and interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA.

Services and interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA.
