R. Pauline Stouffer, age 102, formerly of Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, PA, passed away Friday morning, July 29, 2016 at Menno Haven where she has resided since 2009. Born January 15, 1914 in Mercersburg, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Ruth Gushard Souders. A homemaker most of her life, Mrs. Stouffer was a member of King Street United Brethren Church and the Buds of Promise Sunday school class. She and her late husband loved camping and were active members of the Good Sam Camping Club Penn Wheels #25 in Chambersburg. They traveled to many places locally throughout the years as well as to Alaska and Florida. She was an accomplished seamstress and her hobbies included crocheting, reading, and tending her roses. Her husband, Raymond L. Stouffer, whom she married November 14, 1936, preceded her in death on March 4, 2009.
She is survived by four children, Donna Martin and husband William, Betty Kauffman and husband Frank, Leroy Stouffer, and Carl Stouffer and wife Jennie, all of Chambersburg; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Charlotte Toms, Vema Ricker, and Helen Wingert; a brother, Cody Souders; and a granddaughter, Trina L. Stouffer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday, August 3, 2016 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Lester F. Stine and Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30 – 11:30 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.
