Ralph L. Clayton, age 83, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Lewistown Hospital. Born March 7, 1935, in Waterloo, PA, he was a son of the late Roy J. and Estella J. Love Clayton.
A U.S. Navy veteran, Ralph served honorably during the Korean Conflict as a Navy Seabee. He worked in Pipeline construction for years and later served as a township supervisor for Lack Township. After retirement, Ralph spent his spare time attending public sales, antiquing, hunting, and fishing. He loved to deal in antiques, spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and spend time at the cabin. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 232, Teamsters Local 776, and Laborers Local 158.
Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Rosa Richardson Clayton; two children, Melinda Clayton (James Fleagle) of East Waterford, PA and Michael Clayton (Priscilla Riddle) of East Waterford, PA; three grandchildren, Amanda Clayton, Bobbi Jo Kolbe (husband Jan), and Casey Fleagle; three great-grandchildren, Tayler Starr and Waylon and Weston Kolbe; and six siblings, Louise Yohn, Dorothy Lauthers, Robert Clayton (wife Nancy), David Clayton (wife Martha), Betty Smith, and Danny Clayton.
Services and interment will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, Dry Run, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215.
