Ralph North

Ralph S. “Scotty” North, age 63, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013 in Manor Care Nursing Home. Born November 18, 1949 in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Roy Frank and Alice Marie Garner North.
A 1967 graduate of Fannett-Metal High School, Scotty went on to enlist in the U.S. Navy Seabees on January 26, 1968. He was a volunteer fireman and an E.M.T. with Fannett-Metal V.F.D, Fayetteville V.F.D, Pleasant Hall V.F.D, and Franklin Rural Station 4. Scotty was a Patrolman for the Chambersburg Police Department for over 25 years, retiring on January 1, 2000. Scotty was a life member of the Chambersburg Club, the Disabled American Veterans, and a post member of the James W. McCartney Post 232 American Legion, Dry Run, PA, as well as several volunteer fire departments.
Surviving are his brothers, Richard (Dawn) of Chambersburg, Jerry of Camp Hill, Jay (Donna), Dean, and Kenneth North all of Spring Run, PA; his step-children, Heather (Charles) Frishmuth, Curtis L. Myers, Jr., and Andrew M. Myers.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2012 at 8 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Rev. Marlin A. “Butch” Neill will officiate. The family will receive friends three hours prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Lower Path Valley Cemetery on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 3 PM; where members of the James W. McCartney Post 232 American Legion Color Guard will conduct military honors. As an avid outdoorsman and as a last request, in lieu of flowers, Scotty requested that you take a child hunting or fishing or make a donation to Hunter’s helping kids, c/o Mike Strickhouser, P.O.
