Ralph Peters

Ralph A. Peters, Jr., 85, of Scotland, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018. Born June 29, 1933 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Ralph A. Peters, Sr. and Vera Perry Huff.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, Ralph served honorably during the Korean War. He was employed as a foundry foreman with T.B. Woods for 36 years and later as a security guard for the Scotland School for Veterans Children for 16 years until his retirement. Ralph enjoyed competitive archery, hunting and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Donna V. Zimmerman Peters; two children, Ralph A. Peters III and wife Harriett of Chambersburg, and Suzanne Foley and husband Larry of Scotland; four grandchildren, Sherri, Stephanie, Nicole and Chase; eight great grandchildren; and two siblings Joann Carbaugh of Fayetteville and Dennis Peters of Woodland Park, CO; in addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his son, Steven B. Peters in December of 2001.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 7, 2018, in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Dr. Meagan M. Boozer will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Military Honors will be conducted by members of The VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard.
