Ramsey D. Rock, age 56, of Shade Gap, PA, passed away in the Hershey Medical Center on Tuesday, February 28, 2012. Born November 28, 1955 in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Gladys J. Miller Rock.
An avid Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers Football fan, Ramsey enjoyed watching and going to games; however he found the most joy in spending time with his family. He worked as a machinist at T.B. Woods Company for 15 years and then at Ventura Foods.
Surviving are his children, David R. of Mount Joy, PA; Jason R. (wife Heather) of McConnellsburg, PA; and Matthew R. Rock of Wrightsville, PA, his grandson, Kaleb M. Rock, and three siblings, Reg Rock of Omaha, NE; Remle Nelson (husband Ben) of St. Thomas, PA; and Ryan Rock of Edenville, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 1 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Rev. Marlin A. “Butch” Neil will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Agett-Geisel Funeral, 18875 Main St., Dry Run, PA on Friday, March 2, 2012 from 7-9 PM and on Saturday one hour prior to the service in Chambersburg. Interment will follow the service at Greenhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 384 Floral Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
