Randolph K. “Randy” Douglas, age 59, of Ft. Loudon, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Monday afternoon, March 23, 2015 at Chambersburg Hospital. Born June 17, 1955 in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Morris and Margaret E. Kelso Douglas. Randy was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot for seventeen years and last employed at Manitowoc (formerly Grove Manufacturing) in Shady Grove, PA for eighteen years. A talented musician, he played drums in numerous area bands for over forty years. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and watching old westerns. He was a New England Patriots fan and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Randy is survived by his wife, Denise Mae Poper Douglas; two daughters, Jill M. Douglas (Eric Smith) of Waynesboro and Nicolette S. Douglas of Ft. Loudon; two sons, Tyler L. Douglas and Noah I. Douglas, both of Ft. Loudon; and a special grandson, Cyruss L. Boyer. He is also survived by a brother, Robert Douglas (wife Sandy) of Fayetteville; three sisters, Pat Rosenberry (husband Paul) of Chambersburg, Carolyn Ferry of Chambersburg, and Peggy Barnhart of St. Thomas; numerous nieces and nephews; and two special little buddies, Prince and Jasper. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, John Douglas.
A funeral service to honor Randy’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 27, 2015 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. André A. Ickes will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Friends will be received from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. The family requests the omission of flowers and asks that memorial contributions be made to the Children’s Aid Society, 255 Miller Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
