Randy D. Motter, 63, of Dry Run, PA, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning, June 13, 2017 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born February 8, 1954 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Ed and Bethel Umbrell Motter. Early in his life he drove truck for his parents at the former Motter’s Furniture Store in Dry Run. He was employed as a driver at Del-co in York, PA for more than thirty years, retiring in 2003. He was a member of the Dry Run Water Board and his hobbies included racing, baseball, and football. Randy especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Gladys Hurrell Motter; three daughters, Wendy Madden (Mike Heck), Bethel Ash (Donnie), and Crystal Kennedy (Mike), all of Dry Run; eight grandchildren, Brooke Crouse (Cody), Jordan Rowland, Desirae Rowland, LaRanda Rowland, Trever Ash, Heather Vosburg, Cory Kennedy, and Fisher Heck; four great-grandchildren, Zachary, Kaylie, and Makenna Vosburg, and Abbie Kennedy. He is also survived by a brother, Duane Gibbons and wife Connie of Mt. Holly Springs; three sisters, Wanda Harry (Wayne) of Spring Run, Cindy Paulus of New Kingston, and Geraldine Lehman of Carlisle, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Motter.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main Street, Dry Run, PA. Pastor Judy Rowles will officiate. Interment will follow at Upper Path Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 PM Friday and from 10:00-11:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
