Raymond J. Fleming, 73, of Fayetteville, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at his home. Born July 15, 1944 in East Waterford, PA, he was a son of the late John and Ada Fleming. His beloved wife, Bonnie L. Poe Fleming, preceded him in death on November 2, 2016.
Ray was the owner/operator of Ray’s Produce/Greenhouse. A master carpenter, he also worked in construction for a number of years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, sprint car races, the Pittsburgh Steelers and going to view the elk in northern PA. He also loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by two daughters, Jody Clark and husband Lee and Angie Bowers and husband Brad, all of Chambersburg; three grandchildren, Mercedes, Joseph, and Macey; and his sister, Nellie Straley of Chambersburg. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Fleming.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 7, 2017 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at New Church Hill Cemetery near Port Royal, PA. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
