Raymond L.Forbes, age 73, passed away peacefully at home on April 4th, 2018. Born September 6, 1944, he was the son of the late Arthur and Ellene (Geddas) Forbes.
Ray was the husband of Linda (Lytle) Forbes, his cherished wife of 30 years, who passed away July 27th, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his sister Linda (Forbes) Wright.
Ray is survived by his sons Troy Forbes (Gina) Santa Rosa Beach FL, Mark Forbes (Stacie) Tallahassee FL., daughter Dianne Kelso (Denise) Chambersburg PA. and grandchildren Hunter, Taylor, Cole, and Reese. Ray is also survived by his brothers Arthur (Chip) Forbes (Vikki) Dillsburg PA, and Jim Forbes (Sally) of Fayetteville PA.
Ray was born and raised in Chambersburg and graduated from Chambersburg High School in 1962 where he excelled in baseball and earned the nickname “Razor”.
After serving in the Military, Ray returned to Pennsylvania, and in 1986 married the love of his life (Linda). They enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and golf.
Ray was proud to be a member of the George Washington Lodge #143 F &AM of Chambersburg.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ray’s life at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Matthew Tosten will officiate. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until services begin at noon on Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, Ray requested that donations be made to the Greenvillage Church of God, 5164 Philadelphia Ave. Chambersburg PA, 17202.
