Raymond E. Kane, 86, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Saturday morning, May 23, 2015 at Providence Place, where he resided for the past week. Born July 13, 1928 in Utica, NY, he was a son of the late Raymond and Catherine Wolak Kane. Raymond was a graduate of the Utica Free Academy and served honorably in the US Army from 1946-1947. He began his career at Bendix in Utica and moved to Chambersburg in 1973 to work at the former Grove Manufacturing. He retired as Vice President of Manufacturing from Grove Worldwide in Shady Grove, PA after more than twenty years of service. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg. His hobbies included coin collecting and building models. He also enjoyed restoring Ford Mustangs throughout his lifetime.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dolores J. Kane, whom he married May 26, 1951 four children, Gary R. Kane (wife Jennifer) of New York, NY, Karl R. Kane of San Francisco, CA, Judith A. Brant (husband Jeffrey W.) of Greencastle, PA, and Patrick C. Kane (wife Marina) of Orlando, FL; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Also surviving are two sisters, Dorothy Kane and Marilyn Ryznar, both of Utica, NY.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 26, 2015 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA, with Rev. John Ile officiating. Interment will follow at Brown’s Mill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. There will be no public viewing.
